I've started in my mother's salon in Zeewolde. It may be a small town, but this has never stopped me from dreaming. I soon discovered that I wanted to continue the work and realize bigger dreams. I’ve obtained diplomas at various hair and make-up institutes: Dutch Hairdressing Academy, Toni & Guy, Kinki, Dik Peeters, The Hairschool and House of Orange. Still, there was always something missing; I longed for more adventure and greater challenge.

 

In 2008 I moved to America to work aboard a luxury cruise. I got to see some of the most beautiful places in the world. Nevertheless, this still wasn’t enough to settle the hunger and returned to the Netherlands. I was ready to start my own business here.

 

Over the years my network grew from national to international and I got to work with major brands such as M.A.C. and Dior. I have also worked for various magazines such as Harper's BAZAAR and Marie Claire, and photographers globally. I really love the edginess of the fashion industry. I still work at weddings abroad as a hair and make-up artist and fully focus on the bride's hair. However, I’m also super glad to have my regular clientele at the salon.

With The Set I want to bring everything together; one communal place where creativity and quality unite. I think it's essential to connect the fashion industry and the hairdressing profession. It’s marvelous that we also have our own photo studio in The Set.

 

In Amsterdam East I found the perfect location to open my salon, right by the water. The Set Salon where you can get your hair cut, dyed, or even just to hang at our coffee bar. A salon where the agency The set Artists - bursting with extraordinary talent -, and a nail, wax and botox clinic.
